"Uniting for Ukraine" is a program of humanitarian protection for Ukrainian citizens to obtain asylum in the United States for a period of two years.
The sponsor opens an account on the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) portal and fills out Form I-134, Declaration of Financial Support.
USCIS Reviews ApplicationUSCIS will check the information submitted by the sponsor and conduct a security screening of the sponsor. Once USCIS has made a decision, they will indicate the status of the application on the sponsor’s account.
Beneficiary Sets Up USCIS Account and Attests to Satisfying All RequirementsIf the sponsor’s application is approved, the beneficiary will receive an email from USCIS to set up an account, answer biographical questions, and attest to their vaccination status.
Beneficiary Receives Travel AuthorizationAfter the beneficiary meets all the requirements, the beneficiary will be issued their authorization to travel to the United States. Travel to the U.S. must be done within 90 days of receiving the authorization.
Travel to the United StatesThe beneficiary is responsible for arranging and funding their travel to the United States; this is entirely the responsibility of the beneficiary. Ukrainenow.org does not assist families with travel to the United States.
